When I was younger, like every pre-teenager, I couldn’t wait to grow up. Don’t get me wrong, I know I’m only 19 and I have a lot of growing up and learning and blah blah, I get that. But I have a flat, and car payments, and a full time job, and dishes and washing and cleaning and crap like that, so I’m not a kid anymore and I have responsibilities. But now that I have grown up a little, I quite like not being grown up and adult-y so I make sure to dip back into my child-like tendencies every now and then.
So I do things like build blanket forts, stay in bed all day and colour in my colouring books and stare at pretty fine-liners all day. I love stationary. Too much.
I love my colouring books.
*Ignore my rubbish camera quality*
Jamie bought me them for Christmas and it’s pretty much all I do. They are amazing! I’m just a big kid really. I’m the type of person that would go and buy some PVA glue, just to cover my hands in it and peel it off.
^That’s my favourite candle too. It’s Island Water and Lavender, from Primark. It only cost me £2 and smells beautiful.
These are all from Primark, and all stupidly cheap. Ranging from £1 to £2 and burn for hours, you can’t really go wrong.
I get a little carried away though and light them all at the same time and the flat ends up smelling quite peculiar.
I love the little glass jars they come in so much that when the candle is finished I soak it and clean it all out and use them to store my fine-liners! That way I can stare at stationary and my favourite candles at the same time – it’s a win-win really. I’m not quite sure what I’m going to do when they all run out though. I can’t bring myself to throw them out but I only have so many fine-liners. I’ll just have to buy more colours.
So I escape the newly found world of adulthood by sitting and colouring, and staring into candles. Then I do the dishes because I’m a, ya know, adult.
