Mini ‘cheer me up’ haul

All things considered … today was destined to be a crappy day. A year ago today, I said my last ever goodbye to my wonderful Dad. The first year is always said to be the hardest, but in all honesty I don’t think that it’s ever going to get easier – you can’t really get over something like. Neverthless, I’ve learned to move on and to not dwell – he was a poorly man so at least now I know he is happier and in peace. Love you millions Flospy!

Now onto a happier and much more light hearted note .. I went shopping today with my Mum and had an absolutely lovely day! I picked her up from the garage because her car needed some work done and then we headed for Matalan. and Boots, oh and a little charity shop.

So in Matalan, I bought a candle (surprise, surprise!) and some adorable socks. The candle is Raspberry Pavlova, it smells amazing and is so cute so I couldn’t help myself .. plus, only £2! And the socks were a must have, down to £4 from £7 so I had to really. The Sunday socks will be appearing in my next #SockSunday Insta post!

aaaand .. Sunday Snuggles

They are so cute, I love them so so much!

After Matalan, we went into Boots and I bought some more nail varnishes. I used to be really bad and growing my nails, I was a prolific nail biter and it got to the point where I was physically repulsed by the sight of my nails. So I tried so so hard and I actually have nails now! They all grow in weird shapes which is super annoying but I’ve filed them all to a rounded shape and I’m in love with them. However, now I spend all my time either painting them different colours or buying new nail polishes.. it’s a dangerous game.
I also bought L’oreal’s new Clay Shampoo range and I’m so excited to give it a go. I’ve read quite a few reviews about them so I decided to give them a try. I might even post my own review!

Then we went to the Charity shop (after a very delicious Subway, mmm…) and I bought a book. Again, surprise surprise! It’s called Happily Ever After by Harriet Evans and it’s all about a book lover. I can’t wait to read it, and it’s placed on my never-ending To Be Read list.

So all in all, today was supposed to be crappy but it actually turned out all right in the end. A little bit of Mother-Daughter time and some retail therapy can fix anything!
