Okay, so this was almost comical. I came across this tag and really really wanted to do it buuut I hadn’t been tagged. So I turned to my trusty Twitter-ers and asked if it was okay to write a tag post without being tagged, and I kid you not – I got like 20 replies in less than a minute. If anything, I kind of felt like I wasn’t allowed to not write this post! So here we are … haha!
Write Fuel: What do you eat/drink while writing?
Well, obviously coffee – that’s find of a given. In terms of food, pretty much anything I can get my hands on. A bowl of cocopops is always a good writers companion.
Write Sounds: What do you listen to while writing?
I’d love to say that I listen to a soothing playlist on Spotify whilst creating literary masterpieces but unfortunately not. Usually just the TV in the background. I don’t really listen to it though because I find it quite hard to concentrate on one thing at a time.
Write Vice: What’s your most debilitating distraction?
Twitter, my adorable little kitten who always want to play and cuddle and Jamie. Without realizing it’s 100% the most annoying thing ever, he’ll interrupt me mid-sentence and tell me something about his day or something he found funny. Now, darling – I promise I am interested and I do really want to hear what you have to say but … shut up, I’m writing.
Write Horror: What’s the WORST thing that’s ever happened to you while writing?
Um, I’m not really sure how to answer this one? I guess I can get quite lost and distracted, and that Saffie (kitten) sees this as the best opportunity to bite my toes. Does that count?
Write Joy: What’s the best thing that’s ever happened to you whilst writing?
Having the ideas and words just … flow. Getting lost in my little world of ceativity, it’s just the best.
Write Crew: Who do you communicate with (or not) while writing?
Well, against my will, Jamie. Aaah, it’s not too bad! He’s helped me with picking character names and such so I’ll forgive him.
Writing Secret: What’s your secret to success (or hidden flaw)?
Plan. I plan everything within an inch of it’s life. But with proper planning, comes an easy (ish) write. The story will just write itself! Also, space. You need to create your haven in able to write at your best. It doesn’t have to be anything fancy, just somewhere you are comfortable.
Write-spiration: What always makes you productive?
Peace and quiet, a full tummy and a coffee. Also, reading – reading a good book just makes me want to have my own book one day, it pushes me that little bit harder.
Write Peeve: What’s one thing that writers do (or you do) that’s annoying?
There isn’t really anything I don’t think, I would never get annoyed at something another writer does because we all have our own way of doing things. In terms of when reading a book, a poorly developed character and slow story line is what will make me put a book down and never pick it up again.
Write Words: Share one sentence from a project:
Well seeing as so far, all I have done is plan, and plan, and then some more planning… that’s not possible – sorry!
To save anyone else from the confusion I came across, I tag EVERYONE!
